With five kids under the age of seven, blogger Jordan Page has to deal with an 'insane' amount of laundry every week.
And as the creator of the successful Fun, Cheap or Free blog, the 31-year-old from Salt Lake City, Utah, admits that because she doesn't spend a lot of money on clothes for her family, she wants them to 'hold up', so has become the master of 'stain fighting, sorting, washing,'.
Her solution? Creating a fool-proof laundry routine that involves time saving steps, military precision and a fleet of helpers who have to help their mom as part of their chores.
'Between the uniforms and the play clothes and the church clothes and the soccer clothes and the gymnastics clothes... all the clothes, and the pee accidents, and all that potty training jazz, we have a lot of laundry every week,' she explains in a new video released on her YouTube.

USE MORE THAN ONE LAUNDRY BASKET TO CREATE A FILING SYSTEM
The video starts off with Jordan giving a tour of her impressive laundry room, highlighting how she sorts her laundry.
Instead of one large laundry basket, Jordan has created a filing system of sorts featuring nine individual baskets, slotted into shelves she had made. This means every person in the family has their own basket.
And while this may seem like extra work, Jordan says implementing this system has been a game changer as she now no longer folds clothes when they come out of the dryer, throwing them loosely into the appropriate basket instead.
Then at the end of the night, she and her husband carry the baskets upstairs and set them outside the doors of each child's bedroom so they can sort and fold their own bundle of clean clothes the next morning, before school.

MAKE LAUNDRY PART OF YOUR KIDS' CHORES
However, she does admit that on exceptionally busy days, she doesn't have time to sort the clothes so places them into two miscellaneous baskets.
Her kids must then sort them as part of their chores.
STEAM INSTEAD OF IRON
Jordan also revealed that she doesn't iron and instead prefers to steam clothes to save time, saying she can steam an entire dress in less than a minute.
One of her favorite features of her house is that is has a laundry shoot, allowing for all of her dirty laundry to accumulate in one place.

SORT YOUR CLOTHES BY TEXTURE - NOT COLOR
But when it comes to sorting that dirty laundry, Jordan says she doesn't separate her clothes into light and dark piles, instead sorting everything by texture.
With four built-in laundry baskets, hidden neatly inside two cabinets, Jordan admits she's lucky to have such a well-equipped laundry room (before this she used plastic laundry baskets instead).
This allows her to sort her clothes into four main groups. One basket contains her and her husband's Bubba's clothes, towels and sheets go into another pile and then splits her kids' clothes into light and heavy piles.
Jordan says she washes 'extra, extra' extra' dirty stuff separately.
Her methodology is that heavy textures will absorb more moisture and detergent than lighter garments so sorting by weight rather than color keeps her clothes looking good.

WASH ALMOST ALL OF YOUR CLOTHES IN COLD WATER
She also washes almost all her clothes in cold water as she says, 'warm water and hot water actually set in stains' but uses the 'hottest water possible' for whites.
As she sorts, she says she targets stains with Shout spray and lets the formula soak into the clothes for a while but she doesn't let it dry on the clothes and washes them straight away.
And most controversially, she says her colors never bleed into each other as she always washes things in cold water.
However, she is emphatic about keeping whites separate so she can bleach them.
BUY ONLY ONE STYLE OF SOCKS
And when it comes to socks, Jordan has a very specific system that involves buying all the same color and same kind so she doesn't have to match them up afterwards.
Towels also get their own method and the blogger says she washes them on the hottest setting, bleaches them and then uses vinegar instead of fabric softener as this 'really cleans out the fibers'.
STICK TO DETERGENT PODS
She also shares that she prefers to use detergent pods so she knows she's using the right amount of soap.
