LOS ANGELES — John Leslie, one of the top adult film directors of all time, passed away at his home in Northern California on Sunday at the age of 65.

Leslie started out as a performer in the mid 1970s, appearing in more than 500 movies. He went on to direct more than 140 titles, including innovative series such as "The Voyeur," his longest running and perhaps most popular line with 37 volumes, and "Fresh Meat" which reached its 28th volume this year.

What I remember of John Leslie was being a kid on a farm with a satellite dish and I would always tune into American Exxxtasy channel and would often see John Leslie movies. He was in like every movie! lol. He had that New York accent.

He must've been with everyone back in the 70's and early 80's.

The well known "Hall of Fame" AVN winning director and actor John Leslie has passed away. He was 65. He starred in "Cry for Cindy" and Talk Dirty to Me." These led to him becoming one of porn's leading men. I imagine that Mark Kearns, his good friend and the senior editor of the AVN will have a writeup on him.

Mr. Leslie passed away at his Mill Valley, CA home from an apparent heart attack his friends said. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Kathleen.
