She's a near goddess to people who like música grupera. I've never been a fan of that genre, but I definitely know who this woman is. She has had much adversity in her life, both privately and publicly, and is a great example of resilience. She was recently asked about the problems in her life, to which s he replied, "I don't know how many times I've fallen, but as many times as I've fallen I've picked myself up."
Officially they haven't declared her death, but that's only because they haven't found her body.
