Is "The Avengers" as good as "The Dark Knight Rises"?

After seeing both movies, I have to say that "Marvel's The Avengers" is a better movie than "The Dark Knight Rises".

finally seeing both, The Dark Knight Rises was a disappointment for me. The Avengers was decent, but it was better than the Dark Knight.

still haven't seen the avengers but i saw the dark knight rises. overall it wasn't bad, it needed to be shorter in my opinion, it tended to crawl along at times. the way it played out at the end was ridiculous and predictable. realistically with that scenario set up the way it was bane would have won. batman didn't have **** on him. minus cat woman saving his ass by appearing out of nowhere the remainder of the ending was decent i thought.

They were both awesome movies but they aren't really comparable. One was a feel good ****** movie and the other was a violent depressing and tragic story

The Dark Knight Rise was a better movie than The Avengers.
But, the Avengers was "only" the ultimate blockbuster, TDKR was more than just a blockbuster...
I had very hight expectations for TDKR and when I saw the movie, not alla of them were satisfied. From The Avengers, I expected only some pretty good action. And I was fully satisfied.

I have absolutely no interest seeing The Avengers. The Dark Knight Rises was all right. Wasn't particularly fond of how Burkian its solution turned out to be. But it was a decent watch none the less.

Adults watching super hero movies
for fucks sake, grow up

And I suppose you watch nothing but art house films, huh? What's your favourite Edward Yang film? Is 'Humanity' Bruno Dumont's best film? Is Tsai Ming-liang the best filmmaker working today? Or is it Hou Hsiao-hsien, ir maybe even Michael Haneke, if you're into that sort of thing?
