Iraq insists on withdrawal timetable for US troops

Iran may be Shia...but Saudi Arabia is Sunni. We serve our Sunni masters. My guess is Bush is stalling our withdrawal because the Saudis want us over there. A new political change in America, coupled with public outrage at the occupation TODAY should provide President Obama with the right political climate to bring our troops home.

Maybe when we leave Iraq --the Sunni Iraqis will migrate to Saudi Arabia and the Palestinian people can move into Iraq and leave Gaza and the West Bank.

People want to live in peace and my guess is that most peaceful Arabs will move to a new place if they can live in peace.

Ok I see what your saying but personally don't really agree they have a democracy there. The govt in Iraq is not really one they concocted on their own.Only people that we approved off were allowed to form a govt. And as I said before if our own puppets are even saying this then the groundswell of sentiment for us to leave among the people must be very strong. Iraq will never be seen as having a legitimate govt of their own choosing as long as we are there.

Fine explanation!!!

You did point out the difference between imported democracy which is tried to be imposed into a country by foreign ****** and natural democracy which grows by itself very well!

I was joking about democracy in my unique, bitter and twisted way. :D:D:D

Lots of irony I guess but exactly what do you see as ironic if I may ask?

That the main Western players have been pushing for the plan to be dictated by results on the ground, and now the Iraqi government wants what the critics have been wanting for years. One wonders though....if the situation weren't as improved, would they still be pushing for a timetable?

why would the Palestinians want to leave Palestine? That's what they have been fighting about for the last 50 years. That's like saying that Isreal should leave the middle east to promote peace. Of course it's true, but it's not going to happen.

People want to live in peace, yes, but clearly they care more about national identity more than they care about peace, otherwise there would be no wars in the world or any military ******.

I say everyone needs to get the fuck out of the middle east because it has brought out the worst in humanity. You would think that people would care about having relationships with the environment, with God, with each other... but they only care about oil, ancient relics and petty politics.

If I was the U.S. Pres. I'd tell them that "we'll be gone by 5PM tomorrow, all finacial aid from us is done, good luck and call France if you need anything".
Think of the $$$ that this would save the United States.

^ & ^^ I agree definitely. If Iraq and our own puppet leaders (in addition to the populace) want us out, there is no reason to be there any longer, aside from Bush and the Saudis own personal agendas. Bush is trying to protect our interest in oil at all costs when IMO he should instead be pouring that money into alternative energy research (including nuclear and wind plants) and US infrastructure upgrades and repairs. I have a feeling that rebuilding roads and infrastructure within our own country will be much more cost effective and beneficial to Americans than doing the same for Iraq.
