Interesting Insect Behavoir

I live in Texas and this year I've had a lot of wasp and yellow-jackets infestation under the eaves of my house and under the mailbox.

I get a lot of pleasure ******* these pesky pests with my my gallon jug of Ortho Pest Defense. The sprayer will release a big jet of insecticide about 25 foot. I feel pretty damn good after I've annihilate these little bastards.

What I find interesting is that the Wasps will fly away after getting sprayed with a heavy stream of insecticide. They don't ****** they just fly away and leave the nest alone. They eventually fall in the grass and die. I've ****** 6 nests this summer. The buggers returned to underneath my mailbox 3 times. Not very bright.

The yellow-jackets are a little more peculiar. After they get saturated with insecticide, they just continue to work on their nest until they drop dead to the ground. I've had 4 nests of yellow-jackets.

Insects always amaze me. Anybody have any interesting insect stories you want to tell? Post away....
