In Political Context, What Does It Mean When A Person Is Considered "Woke"?

Woke is a verb, so its a grammatically incorrect phrase.
I think WOKE is a Black term. Or it was created to target Blacks.
"Stay Woke".........sounds fucking stupid.
The term AWAKE is much more appropriate.

I usually use that term for TW-shows or movies rather than actual people
To me woke means "pushing, emphasizing on feministic, racial or LGBTQ related issues" for the sole sake of it, not because it fits a purpose, allows you to tell a different story.
Usually, they pcture women as being as good as men but without all their "manly flaws".

And there's a Super-hero TV show with a female lead role that's not "woke" : Jessica Jones

I've wondered for awhile if the term comes from, or is related to, the old Public Enemy song "He Got Game"?

This is a call to all you sleeping souls

If so, then some of those who claim to be "woke" seem kinda hypocritical to me - especially the corporate types and politicians, who use this term as nothing more than a PR slogan to help assuage the masses.

Then universally we will stand
And divided we will fall
Cause love conquers all


To me, it's just another pop culture term that I don't really pay much attention to.
