Mr. Daystar
In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
This isn't your typical request for an I.D., but I figure there has to be a few hardcore Genesis fans on this site, especially since there are many English members. The thumbnail below is THE ONLY picture I have EVER been able to find of this character from "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway". During the song "The Waiting Room" is when he/it appears, and being as the song is an instrumental number, I have no lyrics to try and help answer this question, all I know is, the band itself has referred to the song as, "The Evil Jam". I have listened to the "Lamb" many, many times. I own it on vinyl, cassette and compact disc, and I also own the live version from "The Archives 1967-1975". I however have never seen Genesis perform it live...I was only 9 years old when they did the original live show. I have seen it preformed live by a tribute band named "The Musical box". If anyone knows about this band, they know that there reproduction of ANY Genesis song, or show is faithful, and accurate, to an almost obsessive degree. It was during their reproduction of the "Lamb" tour that I saw this figure behind the back lite screen. I own the book, "Genesis, I Know What I Like", by Armando Gallo, and have read it more then once, even taking a magnifying glass to the smaller pictures in an effort to find anything out about this, and have had no luck. It is obviously an important part of the story, and I can make a fairly reasonable assumption as to what it's meaning is, but I would like to know if it has a name, or if anyone knows a source for further images. I would also like to eliminate any guess work as to what it really means, or it's significance to Rael's journey, and the story. I really would love to get some answers. This "thing" has for some reason become an almost obsession with me. I recently saw "The Musical Box" for the fourth time last week, and had all but forgotten about it, until a friend of mine asked me if I ever found out what it was....the answer was a very depressing NO! But it was a killer show, as usual.
