Have bunches of them out at my parents' place. It's like a woodpecker orgy over there - during the summer, you can here those suckers pounding it out all over the yard, just hammering that wood.
And, for some reason, I am now aroused.

He was pecking on an ash tree. He was trying to get to the termites under the bark. Woodpeckers can sense the movements of termites with their feet. Same way with robins and earthworms. Nature is fucking radical!

Today it was overcast, and the coldness was getting colder. I think most of the woodpeckers have probably migrated to Miami, or at least Augusta.

I get them routinely in the trees around my neighborhood, but cool beans! Lately in my state, it's red tailed hawks, everywhere. Kind of nice to see, actually.

My favorite, though, are to see owls, which I don't see much as it's usually day time when I'm out in the woods, tromping around.
