I passed the test and reached the first graduate level!

After a hard and long test I finally reached the first graduate level in Krav Maga. The next few days I was sore all over my body and I still have some bruses but I did it! I'm so proud of myself  I kick ass :D

Yes, this is a self congratulatory thread :D

April fools day was yesterday.

As nothing comes to mind right away when I try to think of what Krav Maga is I'm just going to assume it's something out of the Kama Sutra.

A fight challenge eh?

Bring. It. On.

I've been doing some leveling up too. I've got the Rocky montage goin'.

Been looking at some Krav Maga videos, that is some impressive martial art

It's actually one of the most effective martial arts in the world. The primary focus in on self defense and techniques designed on real world application. With Asian martial arts elegance and a correct execution of moves is important but with Krav Maga effectiveness counts. We also train in parks and parking lots for example to make it as real as possible.

I've studied various martial arts including krav maga for about twenty years and there are a few immutable truths I believe:

Shit goes out the window in the middle of a street fight. Everything learned in the gym will be undone by some asshole with a knife or a gun. Situational awareness can be more important than skill.

No matter how tough someone believes themselves to be, there is ALWAYS someone tougher. I had a buddy I worked with who used to pick fights with guys he knew were MMA experts and he'd flick them on the ear when they'd try to perform a roundhouse kick. Then he'd beat the snot out of them for laughs.

I'll take a mediocre male fighter over an excellent female fighter any day of the week and twice on Sunday. I'd rather get hit by a 120 pound woman than a 200 pound dude. Regardless of technique, a woman cannot generate the power of a man.

I'm all for someone learning to protect themselves but I always try to avoid any conflict. Any instructor worth their title will advocate deescalating a situation before force is necessary.

You scare the shit out of me, BB.

Well, maybe.
I find the traditional (non-Brazilian) style of Jujitsu more compelling. I've studied it for a very long time, and am pleased to be a second degree black belt.

Care for some hand to hand combat? :D

I'm still scared of you, though. Congrats on this great achievement.

A super hot woman that can also kick some ass! I see a theme here, is there alot of crime afoot? :D JK Congratulations Babe
Oh yeah - Pics or it didn't happen?

That's very impressive :yesyes: As I understand it traditional Jujitsu is the purest form of Jujitsu, right?
