i recently purchased the mag after a 5 year hiatus. the cover was gorgous with covergirl Nina James and another great interior layout with Samantha Saint. the mag is definetely not failing at getting the beautiful women but a few particulars have always bugged me.
the comics. they are just not funny and the artwork sucks. i know the artwork isnt supposed to be good but if the comic isnt funny than there is no point to it. They usually consist of political satire to make fun of governors having small dicks but they are just not hitting their mark. there has got to be better talent out there and they cant find it then just throw in some more Lorenzo Sperlonga artwork because thoe are great.
the adverts
there is still this huge chunk of the magazine that is adverts. Its pretty much the whole second half of the magazine.I know they have to pay the bills but tis does seem ridiculous. i dont know but has Hustler ever considered the possibility that buyers of the mag might be willing to pay a little more to have the mag sans that chunk of adverts? Magazine porn is probably a littl niche now anywa so why notgo that route?
so i guess the question is, should Hustler just keep on?
