Hundreds of Scientists Reject Global Warming

A new U.S. Senate report documents hundreds of prominent scientists – experts in dozens of fields of study worldwide – who say global warming and cooling is a cycle of nature and cannot legitimately be connected to man's activities.

"Of course I believe in global warming, and in global cooling – all part of the natural climate changes that the Earth has experienced for billions of years, caused primarily by the cyclical variations in solar output," said research physicist John W. Brosnahan, who develops remote-sensing instruments for atmospheric science for clients including the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and NASA.

However, he said, "I have not seen any sort of definitive, scientific link to man-made carbon dioxide as the root cause of the current global warming, only incomplete computer models that suggest that this might be the case.

[...]

The report compiled observations from more than 400 prominent scientists from more than two dozen nations who have voiced objections to claims of a "consensus" on "man-made global warming."

Many of the scientists are current or former participants in the United Nation's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, whose present officials, along with former Vice President Al Gore, have asserted a definite connection.

The new report, which comes from the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee's office of the GOP ranking member, cites the hundreds of opinions issued just this year asserting global warming and man's activities are unrelated.

Hmm. Interesting read. I've never bought into Global Warming being 100% mans fault. Nature is unpredictable and if you need proof of that, watch the nightly news for the weather report.

Global Warming and man's activities would be unrelated to me if I were a scientist...........being lobbied by oil companies to say these to events are unrelated, so big oil can keep making billions, holding back technology and wreaking havoc on the environment and the wallets of the middle class.:yinyang:

Funny Pictures forum is next door...

Thats where it belongs.Poke around that web site a bit, right wing propagandists who have been posted here before lol. They don't like Hillary or immigrants eitheir not surprisinly.Do you really want to get into a debate about Global warming?I can match your hundreds of scientists wilth thousands on the other side from sites like Nasa,UN climate reports,Nasa, all the National acadamies of scientists in the world, National geographic and so on and so on.You know what I won't bother as I think at this point it is on the other side who disputes it to find me one prestigious group of scientists who are not affiliated with a web-site or group without an obvious political bias who says global warming is not real, its not man made and it is not going to be a major problem.

Why is that any scientist who believes in natural climate changes has been bribed? Where is your evidence for this? How many arguments in this freeones forum are pre-conceived notions rather than facts? I'm not asking anyone to provide me, now, with facts of global climate change. My point isn't whether or not that is true. My point is that because a scientist (or group of scientists) differs from other scientists doesn't mean they were bribed. If so, then you should provide evidence.

I've got a new retirement plan. First, I'll go back to school to become "a scientist." Then, I'll move to Washington DC. I'll network with the lobbiest and say whatever they want me to. Better make sure I carry a big coat to line all my pockets, and then I'll retire.

I look at this the same way that I look at the scientists who say smoking isnt related to health concerns. The obvious thing here is that the environment is being raped and the weather is being extremely weird. 80 degrees in December? That just isnt right. But whatever, you guys go argue that global warming is natural, yeah. Polar icecaps? Whatever. Smog over tokyo? Doesnt exist. Yeah.. whatever the case, I dont trust the government at all.

While I'm more inclined to believe that humans do contribute to global warming, I really don't think it matters. Whether pollution actually affects global warming or not doesn't really matter squat to me; we know it's bad for all kinds of reasons either way. I fail to see the reason why something shouldn't be done about it just because it's slightly less bad than it could've been.

Even if 100 scientists refuse to choose scientific dignity (truth) over corporate hush-ups it doesn't mean it's not true.

We are responsible for the heightened global warming and although not the most urgent matter, we need to change some of our habits to ensure the future of the planet.

Anyone who says that they know what the earth is doing is more arrogant & ignorant than any global warming nutcase or oil backed scientist.

Just so I undertand what you are saying. Are you saying that all scientific knowledge about the planet is false or just ideas somebody has or just what exactly?Really I can't quite get your point.:dunno:

I think what he is trying to say is that there is no scientific evidence to prove this current theory of mankind being behind this warming. Just a theory and speculations.
