Hulk Hogan's Son Will Plead Not Guilty
17-year-old Nick Bollea's future unclear in aftermath of crash, passenger injury.

A variety of legal factors will determine if 17-year-old Nick Bollea faces jail time or avoids punishment for his role in a traffic crash that left his passenger in a coma.

Bollea's age and lack of criminal record will likely be considered, as will his spotty driving history. Was he racing? How much of a role did alcohol play?

And how significant was it that passenger John Graziano was not wearing a seat belt when Bollea's Toyota Supra slammed into a palm tree Aug. 26?

Bollea's lawyer, Morris "Sandy" Weinberg Jr., said Thursday his client plans to plead not guilty to the charge of reckless driving with serious bodily injury. The felony is punishable by up to five years in prison.

I must admit that I could have killed myself, friend(s) and / or girlfriends when I was his age.

Stoopid Stuff we / I used get away with - fuckin' around with your girlfriend . . . and realizing, without incident - Godam ! I'm driving this 4 X 4 truck down the freeway at 65 mph ! . . . uhhhhh, Christine !! You'd better let go of that thing . . . .ye . . . yeah ! wait till we get home or I may lose concentration . . . please put your seatbelt on and assume standard vehicle occupancy protocol. :lovecoupl :1orglaugh

Drag racing, OTOH is just an American past time. I cannot fathom how some of these punks do it in residential areas though !! i.e. 100 mph + speeds in a 45 mph zone ? That's blowin' it ! Totally a lack of forethought and consideration for others. At least when we'd gather for races back in the 80's, we'd have all V - 8s showing up - SS Camaros, Chevelles, 'Cudas, Novas Mustangs, Corvettes, ElCaminos etc.

We'd use good judgment, relatively speaking, as we'd would meet on weekends after 10 pm at "Hot Spots" - Somewhat remote strips of road, some, better than 3/4 mile in length, out on the South Side of the Santa Clara Valley.

Todays racers just go at in the middle of residential districts :dunno:
Stoopid Shitz !! Askin' for it !

I feel sorta bad for the Hulkster as he's probably going to loose everything he owns. He's responsible for spoiling his children.

I don't watch his program. I take it that it's a bit on the cheeze ball esque side of things ? :yesyes: Or so I hear ?

I read stuff like this and I begin to count all of those ultra ultra close calls . . . a dozen perhaps ? Somebody was watching / protecting me and mine, that is for certain ! ~~

I'm sorry, I have no sympathy for him or his dad at this point. Seatbelt or not, John Graziano suffered brain damage and will require lifelong care. He survived Iraq only for this to happen.

Nick, under the age of 21, had a blood alcohol level of .02 or higher with illegally tinted windows. He's had prior driving violations and each time his parents help get him out of trouble.

He fucked up, and they helped him think he can get away with such behavior.

No sympathy.

I hear ya !
Lots and lots of issues , legally that could go either way.

I wonder if they'll ask (in court) who bought the alcohol ?

A real mess ! sad . .

So, are you saying, even if he had his seatbelt on, he still would've suffered from brain damage and require lifelong care?

No, more like there are some weak attempts to spin the situation and shift all the blame on to him for not wearing the seatbelt.

From what I have heard he has been charged with speed racing.

I think your doing you own spinning. Him not wearing his seatbelt is huge. Could've meant that he maybe he might have been walked away from the accident. There's reasons why there is laws requiring you to wear them.

True, and he could have not even been in the car at the time, too.

Doesn't change the fact that Nick was drag racing with alcohol in his system with a license restricted to only being allowed to drive for business purposes.

Yeah, but he was in the car, and should've been wearing his seatbelt, regardless of Nick's condition behind the wheel. Actually, drag racing, alcohol in Nick's system....can you think of a better time to be wearing a seat belt?
Nick better get what's coming to him, but the fact that this guy wasn't wearing his seatbelt is a damn shame, and his own fault. Feel sorry for the guy.

No, it doesn't change the fact, but if he knew that Nick had been drinking and knew that they were going racing (which in all likelihood he did) then he took the responsibility on himself by being in the car. I'm all for seeing celebrities go down, never laughed so hard when that Hilton slag went to jail, but in this case, Nick should not be held responsible for John's injuries.

I will have to agree with some people here. If in fact that one person knew what the conditions where and the obvious danger involved and knew he was going to be racing in it and decided to not wear his seatbelt on top of all that the I have a hard time finding Nick Bollea totally at fault here. Depending on the circumstances perhaps most of the blame and not just some of it for the other person's injuries could be considered the other person’s fault.
