I just can't see how some people can "live" the character. Comparing porn conventions to sci-fi conventions is just a no-brainer.
The fantasy folks want to live the lives of those characters and embody all that is the character.
The Porn Fantasy folk, either LIVE the life, or they are folks who want to meet the actual folk.

You seem to have the inside track on this guy. Personally, I don't see the point of these fantasy conventions and costumes, and the obsession they inspire. I don't know how this relates to porn as you've tried to state, but I guess I'd rather fuck Janine Lindemulder than dress up like a Dark Knight.
