Here's a Real Winner

Not sure if this is really newsworthy, I apologize if you don't find it to be so. :)

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - State Police arrested a man early Tuesday whose blood alcohol level allegedly was .491 — more than six times the legal limit — which they believe is the highest ever recorded in Rhode Island for someone who wasn't dead.

The legal limit in Rhode Island is .08. A blood alcohol of .3 is classified as "stupor," .4 is "comatose" and .5 is considered fatal, according to the health department.

Hell he should've been comatose, and there he was driving down the interstate! Hope I don't encounter any of these on my upcoming cross-country trip!

Wow. Damn near half of fluid in his system was alcohol. That right there is something else :dunno:

They caught you for giving booze to a minor even on a BB! hah!..

That's .491%. As in, .491/100, not 49.1/100. 1/200th of his blood was alcohol.

I knew a guy who could be considered a "functional alcoholic." He got pulled over for not turning his headlights on just after dusk. The cop ran him through a full field sobriety test, which he passed with flying colors, and was about to let him go when he noticed a recently emptied beer can in the back seat. That was enough probable cause to take him down to the station for a Breathalyzer. He blew a .35.

I've read this before, some guy in eastern Europe got popped with like 8X the limit, he should have been dead as well. He'd been drinking home made shine.

well thats too normal here. The biggest problem in Finland is alcoholism. The biggest number i know was 6.03 per mils:| I cant understand how the guy was alive. I think its just question of training :p the weirdest thing is that he stayed on the road with his car :S

Body just got used to it. Like how one could immunize yourself to poison by taking tiny bits of it at a time to build up a resistance. Alcohol is just a neurotoxin.

Facts:
If someone has an alcohol addiction, going cold turkey can cause sudden death.

If the average person drinks enough to kill themselves with alcohol in under 15 minutes.. their blood would be 1% alcohol if you were so inclined to drink that blood. Blood Light. Bloodweiser. Something like that.

If he wasn't driving, i'd say "what a fucking hero". That is pretty impressive. If I ever meet him, I'll definitely buy him a(nother) drink.

Exactly. The driving is the main problem I had with it as well. For all I care, people can drink all they want as long as they don't get on the road or get violent.

Good call. Obviously I need more sleep :1orglaugh

They should have tasered his ass! :violent:

I knew a girl who got pulled over and registered almost .3. She was about 105 lbs (hot!) and the cops wondered how the hell she seemed so functional and completely coherent. That is until they found all the cocaine in her pocket.

Hah! I've been there.. except without the cop part. Yeah, it's strange being on both sides of the fence and yet.. fully functional.

I guess the closest thing to that is playing a video game and they make the screen sway around after you drank a beer and you can still play, but you're maybe 90, 95% efficient in the matters. Not a bad feeling except for the huge investment needed to get there.

Bar tab = 30$

7 Lines of coke = 20$

Staying awake for 2 days, fucking your girl without tiring, being awake but completely smashed and you feel it = teH pRiceluSs.
