Help With iTunes??

Hey fellas,I had to re-install Windows XP onto my laptop and therefore had to format the hard drive and lost all my music...I still have the music on the iPod itself but I cant seem to find a way to get the music from the iPod to the newly installed iTunes program...anyone know if this is possible or am I screwed cuz the only thing itll let me do is sync the new,empty,iTunes library with the old iPod,which I obviously dont wanna do cuz ill lose the music off the iPod too
