I find either sleeping with, or buying gnomes for the moderators/staff people here keeps me from being banned.

Though I was once banned from the Fox News network's discussion forum for providing facts and proof.

Not on purpose.
It was a forum called Simtropolis (SimCity 4 fansite). When banning a person, moderators could simply to go any post of that person and click a "ban by I.P." box (as well as by username) to somewhat prevent some people from making clones.
However, the board had a kink - should a moderator make any changes to the post, that moderators I.P. became the default I.P. for that post. There were a few times when I edited a post and hit the "Ban by I.P." box before realizing what I had done. Contacted quite a few other moderators/administrators to unban me.
That little feature is long gone.

I got kicked off a Redskins message board because i told a mod that if he didn't like my take on the loser Jason Campbell he had a problem.

That is exactly what I was going to say.
Once I sat a whole evening and provided information to the swedish version which is incredibly bad compared to the original version.
Then somebody deleted everything because it wasn't "wiki-ised" or what ever.
It is the same at rate your music,discogs and probably all other forums that rely on contributing members.
I have now stopped trying to help.
