As much as I'd love to see porn apps on my iPod, I can't blame Apple for taking the easy road on this. Hosting anything remotely pornographic is a legal quagmire they don't want to get involved with, especially when you're hosting and selling content internationally. And Apple has every right to do it. It's their servers and their software. When you buy an iPod, you agree to a End User Agreement that says that you'll play by their rules. Don't like it? Don't buy an iPod.

This is why I bought a non-iphone smart phone. I have the nifty touch screen but not the limitation of the app store. I don't want ANYONE telling me what apps are or aren't appropriate for me.

I don't need to go to iTunes to buy porn apps for my iPhone. Some other developer can create them. :dunno: We should not force Apple to sell things it doesn't want to sell, as long as doing so doesn't encourage monopoly behavior (of course!).

I read that Apple did this because they're going to push the iPad to the educational market and they didn't want school boards, parents and kiddies to be browsing the App store and seeing porn related apps. :dunno:

But porn has been such a big driver for the internet and various products, seems like they'd create some adults only section in the store.

Oh well... Apple hasn't given Verizon the iPhone, so I won't have one of those unless they do. But I'll get an iPod Touch as soon as they put a camera in it... hopefully later this year.
