Happy St George's Day

larss

I'm watching some specialist videos
And the same to you Trebus.

I saw hot cross buns in Tesco yesterday with the cross in red - they were then labelled St Georges day buns.:dunno:

As a 24 year old, most of my friends don't know it's St Georges Day due to the lack of green and black Guinness hats.... ;)

Sad times

Didn't he kill the last dragon in England as well, he could have went the philantropist route and contain the dragon in some kind of park reserve. Other than that bless you all British folk and your enchanted ways

Is there an official beer for St. George's Day? I mean, if the Irish saint's day has its official beer (however dark, thick, and vile it is), why shouldn't the English saint's day have its own beer? :dunno:

Samuel Smiths, Old Speckled Hen, or Newcastle those would be decent English beers, but I am a "Yank" to those chaps across the pond so what do I know. Still good beers to drink any day not just on St. Geroges Day.

Bombardier or whatever it's called seem to be the beer which celebrate it the most, by that I mean give out free hats with 4 pints lol

Of the ones you mentioned I've only had the pleasure of being introduced to Newcastle. I've never seen the other two.

Hmm... I don't think we have that on this side of the pond. At least I've never seen it in San Francisco. Is it light? Dark? Drinkable?

Yep it's Bombardier. . .

The Englishman says: "I named my son George because he was born on St. George's Day"
The Scotsman says: "I named my son Andrew because he was born on St. Andrew's Day"
The Irishman says: "I named my son Pancake."

Many breweries are producing special beers for the occasion but we aren't a one horse race like Ireland has Guinness.

Wait, so you English people believe that Dragons, flying fire-breathing reptiles, actually existed?

That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.

Odd, when did anyone here say they believed that dragons existed? Then again, believing in dragons is no more dumb than believing in god. . .

Well I suppose that you believe in both if you believe in saint Georgie.
