Never colonize a landmass that's bigger than you are, you don't know what kind of horrors will be unleashed once they're too big to control.
Eh, just kidding. When I think about the industries that matter to me most and the effects of the States on each, I'd be in a state myself without their contributions :
Fiction/TV/Film - no Stephen King, no George Martin, no Star Trek, no Star Wars, no Quantum Leap, no Arrested Development.
Comics/Cartoons - no Marvel, so no Transformers or X-Men. No Batman. No Simpsons or South Park.
Rasslin - no glitz n glamour American pro rasslin, and more importantly these days, nobody to inspire the Japanese take on it.
Eats - no KFC, 'nuff said.
Porn - no big budget porn with decent production values, no Playboy or Penthouse. Barely any of my favourite OCSMs. No #TeamFlores! :shock:
Come to think of it, the only industry I'd be able to cope with without direct American input would probably be music. I'd be OK with Maiden, Sabbath, Floyd, AC/DC, Oasis and basically every band that came out of Manchester in the '70s and '80s. In fact, I would rather lose the entire contribution of the USA to my album collection than have to give up the Stone Roses, James or The Smiths. And QUEEN! Fuck me, nearly forgot the real Fab Four.
So basically..... my life without American stuff = shit.

On July 4, 1776, we claimed our independence from Britain and Democracy was born. Every day thousands leave their homeland to come to the “land of the free and the home of the brave” so they can begin their American Dream.
The United States is truly a diverse nation made up of dynamic people. Each year on July 4, Americans celebrate that freedom and independence with barbecues, picnics, and family gatherings. Through the Internet we are learning about and communicating with people of different nations, with different languages and different races throughout the world. Bringing the world closer with understanding and knowledge can only benefit all nations.
