Many Americans are frustrated with the fact that President Obama seems to get away with an outrageous number of scandals and numerous instances of misconduct. Now, the South Dakota Republican Party is stepping up and taking action, passing a resolution to impeach Obama.

According to reports, delegates voted 191-176 in favor of the resolution, concluding that the President has “******** his oath of office in numerous ways.” The resolution goes on to cite three examples.
While most support the resolution to impeach Obama, some residents of South Dakota are speaking up in his favor.
“I believe we should not use the power of impeachment for political purposes,” Delegate David Wheeler of Beadle County told reporters. “By doing this, we would look like we can’t achieve our political goals through the political process.

The issue of impeaching President Obama is driven by more than ‘political purposes’ however.

Unfortunately, there are several procedural barriers that could prevent action from being taken through to the end. In fact, if an impeachment bill were introduced by Congress, it would have to pass through Senate with a two-thirds majority vote.
