gruil is supposed to be a competitor of Google as some are saying. I'm having a hard time believing this, but tell me what you think.

google.com - load time few seconds at most
gruil.com - load time about 45 minutes ( go make coffee and come back -probably go do the laundry as well )

bing needs advertising to compete
yahoo just isn't as complete as google and will have a hard time competing

seriously though, google is too big to simply fail. yahoo has sucked for ages (useless "web portal" wtf is that even supposed to be), and microsoft has always been confused as to what to do with this thing called the intarwebz. for now, google remains on top.

Who told you Gruil was a competitor? That honestly looks like a high school project at this point. Forget about being a competitor, it's usability is absolute garbage right now.

If you're worried about load time between the two sites, I'll save you some time and effort: Google will be faster - always. How do I know? They've got the money to support the world's third largest collection of servers, and Gruil is at best an underground product.

Bing already has "advertising" in that Microsoft has the second biggest online advertising division in the world. What they need to compete is something they do better than Google, which to date, they don't, and their market share so far has proven that.

Yahoo as a company is pretty close to a complete failure, and have been for a good 4 years. The last CEO did a nice job of botching two potential buyout deals, and Yahoo has lost money every fiscal quarter since.

Considering I use Google Chrome, it'd be weird to use anything else.

Thank you for not being one of the blockheads who's only opinion of Google is "ZOMG! BUT THEY'LL STEAL MY IDENTITY!!!11". But I agree with you, Google is easily the way to go.

I really can't see how Google is going to "fall." Considering all of what Shayd just said as well as the fact that they own the biggest video sharing site on the planet that has no real market competitor and the growing popularity of their own browser especially here in Europe where Microsoft's monopoly of the default browser on all new models has just been broken allowing smaller browsers a better share of the market. And with Google being the brand they are they'll obviously get a kick from it.

I started using bing for images and it's far superior for that task. I've noticed I'm starting to use bing for standard searches lately...and I'm liking it even though I use Chrome. I have no interest in gruil, but I do loves me some porridge and millet!

All I use is Google. Yahoo is good for email and fantasy sports, and thats it.
