Good anti virus software

AVG is what I use and until my PC got infected by spyware everything was going well. I recommend getting another software to deal with spyware just in case because AVG can't stop everything that comes your way.

Before my pc crashed (in hardware), i was using 4 anti-spyware (Windows Defender's predecessor, Ad-Ware, Xoftspy, AVG) and one anti-virus (Avast) and also a registry key protector but my pc was always infected. Once, i deleted 10,000 malicious files from my pc although all of those softwares were active and up to date.

Can you recommend a good anti-virus software system to install on my computer besides Norton? Thanks.

I sure can. ESET NOD32 Antivirus V3.0 is the best stuff out there. I used to have all of the free stuff such as AVAST, AVG, Spyware Search & Destroy, etc. until I clicked on a bad website and got a friendly neighborhood virus that none of them could repair. So I went to Micro Center and purchased ESET and the rest is history.

Mind you, if you decide to purchase ESET, before you install it, you have to uninstall every spyware, malware and antivirus you have on your PC or it will conflict with the software.

I switched to the paid version of AVG. It's great. Much better than Norton. I also surf with Firefox3 and have CCleaner, Pref Bar, Spybot. So far so good...

I use Firefox too and have the no script plugin and it stops most stuff from being run in the first place.

We use antivir at work.

I don't really trust AVG since it flagged an important system file and deleted it, forcing the machine into a loop when restarted. Luckily the computer didn't have any important info so I just reinstalled windows.
