My guess is that people couldn't follow the rules and it got deleted. Too many assholes kept asking about personal information about the girls, I assume.

Yep, no one could follow the rules. Piracy and filesharing was rampant, personal information thrown out there all the time, it was a big mess.

It's been put away while we talk with the content owners and decide what to do about it.

All you can do about people like that is ban them and report them to their providers.

Reopen it and put that as a disclaimer.

What is allowed?

Because if the information is on the net, like another account or model page.
That has always been allowed.

I always felt creepy just being in that thread.

That thing was headed towards being an episode of Law and Order SVU.

Lots of hot bitches though....

I know the solution is pretty easy for those that aren't actually working for FreeOnes. ;-) It's the internet, it's public info, and so on. Unfortunately, it's never that easy and at some point a business decision just had to be made about that thread.

As Adam stated, we are trying to work with them to get another thread up and running, one that they approve of so everyone can enjoy themselves all around. However, the old thread is done. The micromanagement required of us just doesn't make sense.

You can't make comments on some threads approval only?

There is a possibility - correct me if I'm wrong, anybody - that this is function vBulletin simply does not support. The admins can make the rules of forum conduct, they can't change the functionality from within of how the forum works.

I saw this on a vbullitin site:

Thank you for posting! Your post will not be visible until a moderator has approved

Looks like that might be the answer to the problem.

Unfortunately, there's no (easy without complicated programming to change how vbulletin works) way to target a single thread. If there was, I'd be all for it.

Thanks for telling a moderator that it's possible for some posts to have to be subject to moderation before they appear. I wouldn't have known otherwise. ;)

But yeah, what Petra said. What you have seen/posted there is down to the permissions of a poster which admins CAN change, but not the permissions of anyone posting to a specific thread, as per my suspicion.

So, what's to stop anyone from creating a new thread of their own doing the same thing as in the old thread? I love to read about all the things other members know about the scenes. I've learned a lot about GDP that I would have never known without the thread. It caused me to like the GDP site even more than I would have without it.

Trust me guys, Adam and I didn't wake up one morning and decide, "Hey! I know what we can do to fuck with our board members! Lets pull the GDP thread!"

Behind the scenes, this has been an ongoing issue since 2009 at least. But it didn't reach unmanageable level until now, when we pulled it.

think is one of the best site out there and the guy performs pretty well but..cumshots? like slow drops from a pot. You had the chance to get beautiful girls (like e226, 293, 296 ecc) and you always cum like a loser in their eye?

Having that forum made me want to be a member. Knowing a few more details about what you are seeing is what interests a lot of us. My desire to keep a membership has diminished greatly since the forum went away. You have a great site. I don't understand why you want to make it so difficult for your members. Seems like you would do everything you could to keep your members and gain new ones too.

Well they have their own forum that they just started recently if you want to check that out, although it's not as active right now as the GDP thread that was here. I attribute that though to the monumental number of lurkers they have.

Because in the real world, where FreeOnes is a website and a business and not just a forum, the relationships with content providers like the guys that run GDP is one of the most important things, far more important that maintaining a thread for discussion where we have no guarantee that those discussions are being generated by people that will ever contribute $0.01 to the coffers of FreeOnes, of GDP or of the porn industry overall. If FO allow conduct on the board that hacks off content providers, it can be very detrimental.

Not just relevant to this topic, but EVERY decision made or rule enforced in the running of this forum has to do with perceived reward vs risk to this site, whether it is financial, legal or reputational. Nobody puts up barriers to having fun discussions just for shits and giggles, but for VERY GOOD reasons, whether those reasons are easy to understand / made explicit or not.

Please keep in mind that this is not a FreeOnes decision. If it were left up to me, the thread would still be there. I just can't justify they amount of work that is asked of us to maintain that thread any longer.

Until someone decides that they can do it better and try to run their own site or forum, they don't realize how hard it is to be a player in this game. There's real, physical money that has to go into this. There's a bottom line. There's relationships and reputation to maintain in the industry as well as a hundred other factors that you, our visitor, doesn't even get to see behind the scenes. And of course there's the legal aspect that nobody ever considers because hey, it's the internet and you can do what you want! Right?!

I can tell you, I never want to run another forum ever again after this gig is up. :D
