I'd travel through the 80's, dunno which year exactly. But it maybe was a heck of a time. Biggest problem might be the time paradox

Well, if I could go anywhere, absolutely anywhere at all in time, I think I'd probably choose to go back to a week last Tuesday. I did all the laundry, and then we watched TV. Wow, we won't see the like of THOSE sorts of days again.

What an amazing thing it would be to travel back in time

Civil war era 1840's-60's
The 1920's during prohibition
The late 1940's after WWII

Real answer, balls to history, I'd choose something with personal significance to me. I'd go to Manchester in about 1977 and be of an age where I could go to the gigs of all the bands I love from the late 70s and 80s - Joy Division, James, The Smiths, The Stone Roses, House Of Love - and fully appreciate the entire 80s as an adult. Simpler times but times of simple pleasures, especially in terms of music, movies and television. With a few exceptions, everything seems so diluted and bland these days. Although the porn is pretty good.

Ah but if you went back in anything other than an observer role you might alter history so the present day was different and yhou might not have been born in the first place. Check out Back to the Future and/or The Simpsons on this very theme!

(Although in reality I would be tempted to go back to 1989 and a friend`s wedding and hide in her wardrobe on her wedding night to watch her getting fucked, or perhaps to when she first met er husband to be and put her off him).

In terms of a specific event, I would go back to June 1976 for the Sex Pistols gig in Manchester to witness the gig that inspired a whole movement and some of the greatest bands in the world.

I would also like to go back to the early 90s rave and acid house scene and experience this as an adult at a warehouse party in the middle of nowhere

And maybe Victorian England just before the start of the industrial revolution to see how quickly and devastatingly the wolrd changed

I'd like to go back to 1969 as a 15 year old and hear the rock music when it was brand new to see if it captures the feeling of perfection that I hear now. Love that music! I also wouldn't mind going back to the Brady Bunch days as a teenager and making out with Marsha Brady. Maybe even Jane. Maybe even Alice. Maybe even Tiger! No no, not Tiger. I am Jewish so this would be very dicey but I'd love to be at the 1936 Berlin Olympics when Jesse Owens showed Hitler the middle finger with Jesse's showing at those games. We know how furious Hitler was and to be able to see that would be awesome

I am fascinated by the Egyptian Pyramids. To know how long they have been around and knowing what technology exists today but none of that was around back then so to see them being built would be fascinating because we all know the slaves who built these were seen as big time disposable and in those working conditions you know many, many, many, MANY of them died not that anyone cared. I'd love to be there to see these built but I say that knowing if I was odds are I would be put to work and odds are very good I'd die doing it

I wanna go back to Sept 1993 when I was at work for the first day. I turned the corner at the same time someone else who worked with the company turned the corner while escorting an Elderly couple someplace. I don't believe in "Love at First Sight" - or I didn't until then. To this day I have no idea how I didn't collapse because it felt like every bone in my body was pulled out and that Cupid shot me with what should have been a Lethal Blow. She was so GND beautiful. I spoke to her a few times but never had the balls to ask her out until January 1994 but by the time I had the courage she was gone - she was an Intern whose internship was over in December. I sooooooooo wanna be able to turn back the clock almost 20 years and ask her out knowing odds are she would have said "Yes" and if she did I am 99% sure I'd be married to her instead of yearning for what got away.
