To have a start we were talking about Dollhouse and Hockey. Any thoughts?

Hockey, hmmm......i dont watch hockey much but i used to go to Kings games with my friend when i was a kid. I THInk i even played some roller hockey too, along with other sports. Nowadays i watch alot of basketball. A little baseball. Not big on football.
As for Dollhouse, never seen it. I was thinking about it but i became forgetful, figured i missed too much when i thought about it again. Hey you think this threads gonna catch on?

PirateKing Well not big on sports myself. If its fun to watch I will. With that being said I haven't watched a game of anything in oh 3 years.
Yes Dollhouse is one you do not want to have missed anything. So many layers that you have to go through. But hey if you have netflix or Hulu it may be worth checking out.
I hope the thread does catch on.. even if it only a few regs and JaneB. I want to connect with people and to do that requires talking about all kinds of things. Hell if all I ever get to know is you it be great.

Dollhouse I was very impressed with but Fox decided to shitcan it. At least they gave it half a chance instead of snatching it off the air like that did with Firefly.

Yes at least they gave Dollhouse a chance. Once again though the viewership was not there. Sometimes I think Joss aims to high... then I go oh well at least Its not another reality bomb.

That show was too good for FOX anyways. Futurama, firefly, arrested development, dollhouse, the list goes on. NBC should start picking up these shows they might improve their ratings.

I agree. Good shows have a way of getting canceled on Fox. I love The Dollhouse. I also loved Arrested Development. Futurama is coming out with new episodes this year on Cartoon Network.

I love Dollhouse ! I was not to into it @ first but then became addicted I cant wait to see where they left off .
As for hockey I just went to my very first Hockey game last night , not thinking I would like it @ all and thinking I was going to want to kill myself lol but I really really loved it !!! , And to top it all off I actually had a hockey player ask me to sign something haha ! LOVED IT

Good good. The both of you have some good taste. However did you ever check out Wonderfalls that was seriously fun show. Also a fox show only 4 eps shown.... its on dvd though.

Yes Dollhouse was very slow start. However when you got to the episode Man on the street it took off. I loved the fight scene in the alley when she twisted/threw him onto the car. Just awesome.
Hockey can be fun to watch. Its a very visceral sport. Lots of action and something always going on. Well of course they asked you to sign something I am sure you have fans all over.

Good shows get canceled on Fox for one reason and one reason alone - American Idol.

American Idol takes up soooo much air time that Fox ends up cutting out a bunch of decent shows, just so they can make room for it. Instead of cutting back on American Idol's time, they cut back entire shows. American Idol is their baby and they're going to milk it for as long as they can. There's too much money in it, you know?

But, hopefully with Simon Cowell leaving, this trend of terrible reality shows will stop. It probably won't, be we can always hope.

Simon Cowell's X Factor is coming to the U.S. next year, so that will definitely take American Idol's place as Fox's baby IMO, because no Simon = declining ratings for Idol, people watch that show to see his perspectives on the contestants mainly.

That being said, his X Factor show is a lot better for the simple fact that it's not as drawn out as American Idol and usually for the most part gets straight to the point. But I can imagine that Fox will find a way to keep Idol alive too so they can milk some more viewers, which means some of their current TV shows definitely won't make the cut.

I don't watch American Idol. I saw only parts from season one. I guess it must bring in huge ratings. Not sure why.

Well Jane I would suggest looking into Wonderfalls. Its out on dvd all 13 episodes. Very funny stuff. Well acted and scripted and the chemistry of the cast was beautiful. I'll leave you with a direct quote from the first ep Why do you have an ass if you don't answer it?

American Idol blows. Actually any of those shows blow.. Hell even the ones I have liked (Rockstar and Rockstar Supernova) Sucked. Do you know why? Because the people who vote on these shows have no ears.

I liked the Terminator series. Summer Glau was an excellent choice. I was so pissed when it got axed.

watched the first season of weeds. it was good but didnt get me hooked like dexter did. If you got showtime then you should definitely watch dexter. especially the first two seasons theres some pretty funny moments in it too.

i liked the sarah conner chronicles as well. Im a big terminator fan and i was upset to see hear that it was cancled.
