Frank Miller's Sin City impressions.....

Sin City impressions.....

Well I just got home from seeing the film, and I must say while the plot has holes, and isn't very strong overall. The movie does keep you going as it's cinematic presentation is just overwhelming. I don't really want to give anything away, so I won't go on to much about it. I will say that if Frank Miller ever wanted to produce a Batman movie for adults, this style would be awesome. You really do feel like your watching his novels in motion. I think it's truly groundbreaking, and your going to see more movies in the future do things similar with digital cameras.

This really isn't the kind of movie I would recommend taking a lady friend to see with. It's full of ********, prostitutes, and some nudity (Carla Gugino walks around topless freely in one scene, sweet rack) it doesn't really show women in their best light. Although model turned actress Deven Akio is totally killer as a ninja prostitute assassin. In fact in the middle of the picture the prostitute group led by Rosario Dawson is shown that they are not to be fucked with. So maybe it's not all bad for women.

Mickey Rourke's character steals the show by a landslide.

Anyway, it's worth the ticket, if only to see how the lighting and different camera motions are done.

* * * Stars.
