Former President George "Dubya" Bush Has New Gig... as a Motivational Speaker!

Facetious

As Tom Petty said, even the losers get lucky sometimes:
Yea and he also said that "you don't have to live live a refugee" too. :1orglaugh:D

Trash the former all you like 'cause he was nothing less than a reconquista - lulac / mechacano /
la raza (THEE Race) / Mexican supremacy gang suck up. :D

Unbelievable.
Shouldn't Dubya really be in jail, or at the very least, living in a van down by the river??

Read it and weep (and/or laugh)...

Yes, if prosecutor Bugliosi gets his hands on him, he'll do life with free food and a warm place to sleep, so for his own good, his motivational speaking should include how he found Jesus and was born again, or at least an insanity defense.

I saw him talk today in Saskatoon. Wasn't very motivational.

That has to be the most awkward attempt at a segue, in order to make a contrived, silly "point", that I've seen in a long time. Well, at least since the last time I saw Dubya do any public speaking. ;)
(Pssst... the Petty tune you refer to is about a romantic relationship, not geopolitical refugees who cross international borders, so, that's just lame, ok?)

Wow, really???!!?? Did you actually pay for that?

Was Saskatoon all aflutter over his appearance?

I for one am actually quite pleased to see this.

Mainly, because I have heard rumblings of him taking over Bud Selig's spot as MLB's commissioner. Yeah, I know, this would not stop him - but perhaps somehow, it will work as a speed bump.

Yeah, it was about 100 dollars. It's the former leader of the free world, of course I would pay.

There was a large group of protesters outside of the auditiorium where he was speaking. When it was first announced he was coming some bitch said he was going to try and get Bush arrested when he landed at the airport. Guess he failed. :dunno:

That's the reason I have it. It makes people double post.

I think he can make a great motivational speaker. After everybody sees how he did, anything anybody else does is going to look good by comparison and they are going to feel better about themselves. :1orglaugh

I can see Bush advice as a motivational speaker;

"Even though everyone in the know tells you Bin Laden isn't in Iraq, well you just go ahead, ignore them and start a war there anyway that benefits all your friends"

this son of a bitch should be tried for treason and lynched like Saddam Hussein when he's found guilty!

There was talk about that somewhere, but the chances are he can't be touched. As you know, Cheney was instrumental in changing the meaning of laws to protect the white house. Laws including the Geneva Convention that the US pushed forward in WWII to allow definition of human conduct during wartime, which promoted the reasons for prosecution of Nazi war criminals. John Yoo looks like he could be prosecuted as well as some recent talk about Ashcroft. Ashcroft I didn't find to be that bad, just incredibly stupid, but I suppose until you are in that "yes men", mentality, you can't say you'd throw your principals out the window to save your own political ass.

On what topic? 100 ways to a dumber and more irresponsible you? Sounds like a winner to me.
Oddly enough that line of work suits him he's already good at making empty promises.

You all would be surprised by how likeable he actually is in real life. There has been a lot of press here how critics of him went to his speech and came out with a better view of him. One thing I noticed is that he likes to make fun of himself nowadays. One of the things he said was something like "People accused me of never reading when I was President, and today I can tell you I am reading chapter books".

Making fun of yourself is one way to beat your critics to the punchline.

I still think the book, "The Prosecution of George Bush for Murder" has a lot of merit. Bugliosi makes the case he was off the job about 3 of his 8 year tenure and unlike other presidents who seemed to suffer greatly with the decisions they made in war, was more concerned about his jogging time and "having a great time" as prez than those who died and suffered as a result of his actions.

The really good video on how he said he didn't want to be a war president and then suddenly realized he could bask in the glory I can't find.

He made real promises to those in his circle. Don't forget he was also friends with Enron management before taking off restrictions off them which allowed them to screw California and their shareholders with a fake company earnings report before they jumped ship.

When I saw him he took on all of his critics head on, and he managed to silence them all, for the most part. I don't think that book has a lot of merit if it says he is off the job for three years. You cannot be President of the United States and be off the job for three years.

What it comes down to is that he simply was more morale than any other president in the last 90 years. He has his ideas of right and wrong, and he persued them during his presidency; obviously, to varying degrees of success.
