This discussion is really simple. If you live in the United States, you're generally going to be an American football fan and not watch soccer. I know
one person who watches the EPL consistently. One. I honestly don't know anyone who doesn't watch the NFL on Sunday. Even my mother has two NFL jerseys (Unitas and Manning). Every Sunday during football season, I can pretty much guarantee that I'll be getting together with at least 8-10 other people to watch the games. It's the most watched sport in our country for a reason.
If you don't live in the United States, you don't watch the NFL. And frankly, I don't give a fuck. You didn't grow up watching it, you don't understand the rules, and you have no geographic ties to the teams. So why would you watch? I would be more surprised to learn that some Europeans watch the NFL on a regular basis.
Having a thread comparing the two is fucking pointless. Neither side is going to hear a dissenting opinion and suddenly change their minds about which one is their favorite. Just accept that there are fans of both leagues and leave it at that.
And thinking that some of the larger players are fat and therefore not athletes is asinine.
This is Mario Williams. He's 6'7", 295 lbs, and runs a 4.66 40-yard dash. He bench pressed 35 reps of 225 lbs, and has a 40 inch vertical jump. I'd like to see you call him a fat fuck. He'd chase you down, catch you, and rip your limbs off. The NFL has the widest variety of athletes of any professional sport. Fact.
