Favorite Christmas cartoons

Since we have threads on fav christmas songs and movies ,why not cartoons.I am not really thinking of things like Charlie Brown or the Grinch but actual cartoons which run about 7-8 minutes. But before I offer some of my favorites there is one animated longer X-mas show I must mention which is the Futurama epsiode with the evil robot Santa, that one is awesome.

Here we go.

My all time favorite.
"Bedtime for Sniffles" Christmas Cartoon 1940

This one is kinda of shocking to many people, all humans are dead lol.
"Peace on earth" 1939

And the 1955 remake of the above with a nuclear angle.
"Good will to men"

I used to love those Christmas claymation shows when I was a ***

My favorite.....by far.....is "The Snowman". If you've never seen it, you've missed a rare treat. The theme song "Walking in the Air" is a worth the watch all by itself. Check it out if you get the chance:

Great thread, FOMM!!

Thanks I was really talking about "cartoons" .Especially the ones of the 30s and 40s from Warner bros and others, but Warners was king. They put a lot of time (months) and work(all hand drawn) into them. They are not really appreciated for how great they are as we all have seen them so many times on TV as ****.

Yes "Peace on Earth" is definately subversive as a christmas message.:1orglaugh
More people like that around in 1939 and we might have avoided WW2.:dunno:
That is actually a cartoon I only remember seeing for the 1st time about 8 years ago and was like "wow".A Hugh Harman MGM cartoon where everybody's dead from wars. Not many cartoons that had that serious a message that I remember, but then again in 1939 the world was obviously headed for war and a lot of destruction so maybe not that surprising.
It is also a bonus extra on my favorite Xmas movie DVD which is the MGM 1938 version of a "Christmas Carol".

Ok back to the "cartoons".

Wow, I never knew there were so many Christmas cartoons. :dunno:

I DVRd A Charlie Brown Christmas last night. I'll be watching that one later.

Hmmm....I though anything that was animated qualified as a cartoon.

Oh well....I like it anyway.

I tried to steer it to "cartoons" in my initial post but I guess I failed lol.
No biggie.:)

Some of the longer 1/2 hour/hour ones that I liked as a *** don't really hold up as well as an adult IMO.Some even as a *** I found too silly to enjoy like Frosty and some of them like Charlie brown or the grinch I guess I have just seen way too many times. But the cartoons hold up pretty well IMO,at least they aren't that long lol.
