Everybody wears flip flops these days

I'm not a flip flop wearing guy, but that is all I see people wearing these days, guys and chicks. The other day, I'm working out at the gym and there was a guy in there wearing flip flops :dunno: Since when did flip flops become casual? I see guys wearing them with pants and chicks wearing them with dresses.

They are convienent, and cheap. Mine a cheap leather ones that cost me about 20 bucks.

At first I thought it was "gay" but I got over that pretty quick and now wear them all the time.

I have worn them all my life, having grown up in a small coastal town in Australia it was barefoot or flip-flops when formal attire was required. But there pants were never a necessity, you only ever wore shorts. When I lived there I owned 1 pair of jeans which were again, my formal dress.
Never have and never will wear flip flops with long pants, that's just stupid.

here where I live you can always spot the foreigners because they are the only guys walking around in those cargo/bermuda shorts, back packs and stupid sandals showing off their nasty, yellow-toe-nailed, boney feet.

I just read recently that frequent use of flip-flops can cause foot or even back problems. About the only time I wear them is when I'm going to use a public shower facility and don't wanna get a foot fungus.

I wear sandals from time to time, esp. when being a tourist in a beach zone. Usually I see plenty of locals wearing them too, so I don't feel like I'm terribly nerdy by doing it...

clearly agree although michigan is really hot in summer, really cold in winter so its not tourist variety its mostly just gay guys or lazy guys that wear that type of foot wear.. never catch me wearing them!!

Yeah I just love it when you seem some fat old fucker wearing flip flops and his goddamned toenails are greenish-yellow and all gnarly and shit and the skin on his feet is all scaly and flaking off....very attractive.

My feet don't look quite that bad but I NEVER wear flip flops or sandals....period.

The only way you would EVER see me wearing flip flops or any kind of sandals,is if someone puts them on me when I'm dead,and if they did,I'd make sure I'd haunt their ass until they are dead.

I think that they can be sexy on a girl unless they have fucked up hammer toes,bunyuns,or what have you,but the only guys that should be wearing those types of shoes are Spartans and Roman Gladiators.

I sued to work at a gym and i've seen at least two guys drop weights on their foot wearing sandals. I enjoyed that.

I don't mind sandals but it's not appropriate everywhere. I find it really disgusting when people wear it in high traffic areas. Like airports/planes....now that's summer every third woman is in sandals...by the end of the trip their feet are black.

Or women/men who wear that shit downtown, sidestepping garbage and junkie syringes and shit. Their feet also get very gross.

I like to wear them when I'm on a "tropical" setting... but that's about it. People who wear them all the time are a little creepy to me... like they just gave up. Same people who wear sweat pants out to a restaurant.

I know here where I live, there seem to be a lot of fat (I mean really, REALLY fat) people who wear flip-flops, as well as other clothing articles because those just seem to be less work to put on or have on.

I've got a few extra pounds, but I still make the effort to lean over to tie my shoes, and you won't see me wearing fucking pajamas and flip-flops to a Chinese buffet! That's total class, ain't it? Putting on your best pajamas over your 5'1", 280 pound frame so you can go and have "all you can eat"?
