English Premier League 2017/2018

I can't see a thread discussing the new EPL season. So far the defences look abysmal but I guess the top teams will be buying in top defenders before the deadline passes. I think it's going to be Man City's title.

I have spent the last few days inputting a huge amount of data into a super computer larger than Belgium to predict the 2017/2018 Premier League season. I can now announce the findings. Man United will win the league by a country mile, Liverpool to finish bottom.

I fear Chelsea will not go down. There are only three relegation spots available, Liverpool have taken one, West Ham & Palace the others.

You really think all 3 promoted teams will stay up? I'd expect both Brighton and Huddersfield to go down straight away, Newcastle will probably end up in a relegation scrap with 4-6 other teams.

Just checked on the English league, it seems Watford and West Brom are sitting in two of the Champions League spots

Hardly means a tin of beans after two games other than they've started well. Zero bearing on who finishes where.

Man United are going to win the title. Chelsea and City have spent big but United have spent best. Lukaku theoretically can be the best striker in the league. I watched plenty of games last year (including Spurs v Everton in person) where he managed to score a goal but a more intelligent player or with better positional sense would have scored 2/3 .. and he still nearly topped the goal charts.

Matic is a phenomenal signing and a ludicrous sale by Chelsea, not just because he's so good at his job, but because he enables Pogba to do more of what he does best, to great effect in the two games so far and to the benefit of my Fantasy League team. With Dave Saves, Matic and Lukaku there is an argument that they have the best player in the league in three key positions. I'll be surprised if they don't win the title.

That centre forward who scored the second goal Depoitre looks like is carrying a few pounds and the guy who got the first used to play banjo in rural Georgia years ago ... Well be bears a striking resemblance.

Ross Barkley has effectively given up on having a successful career, he's signed for Chelsea.

Its bizarre, he wasn't doing enough on a regular basis for a mid table club so its confusing that Chelsea wanted him in the first place. It makes little sense from Barkley's point of view either, is he only going to play in domestic cup matches? There's no way he pushes out Hazard/Willian etc so is he content sitting on the subs bench for a few years to hopefully pick up some trophies?

It sure as hell puts him out of the next World Cup, he's not going to get the playtime to merit a place, mind you Joe Hart somehow starts every England game so common sense may not apply...

We need a long term injury to hit Jordan Henderson if we have any chance of doing anything in the World Cup. He's as useless as a cat flap in an elephant house. The same for Raheem Stirling, I don't care how he's playing for the Berties he fucking shite for England.

It's whether they can keep the form up for the next few months and a lot of that depends on it they can keep De Bruyne and Aguero fit. Was looking g at some of the tackles they are comp!aiming about and they've got a point.
