It's a different time in music. Whereas people used to have impressions made on them and then go out and buy the record, now they can just download whatever and keep what they like and discard what they don't. Also, nowadays it's all about having a big radio single. It used to be about having a great cover-to-cover album. Beginning to end would tell a story. Now a CD can have like six different styles through the course of the same CD and it's all about gimmicks, look and guest appearances. Since when did appearance matter in music?
