Why is it illegal to sell many Dvds without permission, but to sell a single dvd it isn't?

If I had 50 Dvds (all the same) that I bought from a company then tried to resell why is that illegal over just reselling 1?

No. If you bought them and are merely selling them as used...that's your right as it is to sell any of your other property.

Let me clarify after reading your question further. If you buy them and pay the tax on them, it's your business what you do with them IMO.
