I'm really sorry to hear this. I've been following Lou since his days on the CNN business broadcast, where he did an EXCELLENT job. And Lou is one of those people who even when I didn't agree with him, I felt like I knew where he was coming from, so I still respected him.

Sure, he's become more opinionated over the past few years. And he may have stepped over the line on occasion. But (IMO) Lou didn't turn into a raving, irrational maniac or a fruitloop when he did.

A sad day for American journalism, IMO. Lou will be missed in my household.

I used to watch and enjoy his news show, until a couple of years it moved to a "Lou Dobbs" show, in which he made himself the focal point of too many (at least in my opinion) stories.

Dobbs became a caricature of himself in recent times so it's good he's "moving on". When you in fact become the story instead of you reporting or commenting on the story, you no longer retain any relevance or credibility. Have a nice retirement, Lou....in the end, you're just another old angry white guy.

I just have to say that I admire the man for standing up for what he believes in The Rule of Law e.g. Constitutional Republic, so do I. Another one of Lou's admirable qualities is that he doesn't whore out to make friends via kissing politicians' asses, he's an equal opportunity critic of both the Democrats as well as the Republicans.

I couldn't help but notice that over the last month on CNN, Lou has been referring to ''illegal aliens'' as "undocumented something or others... something wasn't right, and here we are today.
