Do you have the balls?: Part Deaux

It continues to be amusing to see everyone showing up in these few threads and exemplifying my sentiments. Honestly however, I would not have expected otherwise, standard practice for you folks. It's as if your ignorant to what is even being said and just carrying on with your nonsense approach, using the act of stupidity as a method of diversion.

One of Maslow's needs is the need to belong. It is important and I've seen it hinder development when denied. Not being patronizing, but that is what I figured this was when I first saw the postings.

For a porn board I dig the political threads. I often don't agree with the majority here, but I think some people have valid opinions. There are times it can be fun posting something that you know is going to piss someone off. I think there is a clique here. It is natural and most of the people in that clique would probably not acknowledge it because it is fairly meaningless.

I've been here a couple of years, but haven't posted as much as some and I guess am familiar with a few people, but think I'm outside that "circle" as well.

I'd guess most people post for their own amusement. Sometimes I see a pretty good exchange of ideas, mostly wise ass remarks which I find funny.

A while back I would find myself getting into exchanges with someone who everyone seems to revere and I never got that. He got into name calling which isn't clever or amusing, so I backed away from the board. You can't fight "everyone". Even if you're right. ;)

If dirk pisses you off, take him on. Find something of merit and challenge him. If it is just name calling, I don't think anyone is going to listen. If you fight fair and win an argument with dirk (even while maybe losing a few) I think people will be amused and respond better. I'm guessing if you beat dirk in an argument on merit, dirk will be the first to admit it. If you do it while not being an "ass-hat", you'll probably get a few people on the board agreeing with you and you'll see the "clique" stuff is just like anywhere else - not really much of anything.

(I can't remember when, but I seem to remember dirk disagreeing with me on something. So, that is an indication that he is wrong sometimes. ;) )

My Penis Is Dancing!
I've seen this before. I'd climb that in a second. What's going to happen? When you climb a short ladder, do you often fall off? When you climb stairs, do you often fall off? Pfft. It's high. It's just climbing. You do it every day without consequence.

I love high places. And think of the view!

Pffft! Yeah right! Bugger off!
You can't get blown off by a 60 mile and hour wind or hit in the head by an airplane off a three-step ladder!

Nice post mikexmoran.

One thing however, if your meaning that I myself am trying to belong here, I would have to then disagree. I have been present for around 3 years and have been required to wade through and existed around what you have described (and what I more sharply described) during that time. The only reason I chose to comment and react as I have is when "this behavior" came itself to my door step, I did not seek it out. Likewise, I am not seeking out to interact with or be apart of any groups or gain popularity or favor with anyone here at the forum. I have minded my peace for three years and would have remained quite had I not been approached as such in a few recent threads. I don't care what perceived status someone has, even though I myself seek none. I wont be railroaded by those whom wish to have self importance and bring this approach towards me, or as part of any "clique" as you stated. Likewise its hard to find anything of "merit" as you put it when all thats being presented is nonsense and self amusement by others in thread after thread.

Again, nice post mikexmoran.

No fucking way would I do it either. The funniest part is when he said that if there was a lightning storm brewing there is no fast way down. YES THERE IS!

This discussion about fear and what is real is interesting. There are all kinds of fears and we all fear something. What is it that kicks into our heads? It can't be experience or risk of failure. People take risks everyday. We fail at the same things too. That doesn't drive us away for the most part. I would do most of the shit on Fear Factor except for 2 things. Those crawly stingy things they dive into and the shit they have to eat.

Being a gambling man I'll show you where my head is at. I held a poker game at my place just the other day. Small stakes. Quarters 2-4 limit. Bring $20 to play. Food and drink enough for everyone. Shits and giggles to pass the night away. They only wanted to buy in for $5. Okay, buy back in $5 at a time. It took about 2 hours to bust 2 players their $5 and they sat for another hour and a half before they bought back in. Another busted his $5 after 4 hours and took some time for him to pony up and get back in. I busted after the first 2 and went back in on the next hand. I don't think it was because of being cheap, I think it was fear. What makes the same person reach into their pocket for a $5 drink at a bar easier to do than dropping it onto the table to play the game? Is the risk of embarrassment of losing worse than spilling the drink and buying another one? It's an interesting journey into the mind.
