Hmm... I'm inclined to call bullshit on this one, but at times I think it would come in really handy. Have you ever tried parking at some lots where they only leave about 8 inches between cars? Opening your door is literally impossible.

Yeah, yeah, yeah!!! This is absolutely handy for really compact parking lots!

This is a very good idea as it will stop people banging car doors on other people's cars.

It wouldn't stop me from dinging some asshole's door if he pissed me off. :D

It will have it's issues, like rising up and crushing your legs as you're halfway out. Or if someone gets into an accident and can't get the doors open and burns to death. But, if those issues can be dealt with I am for the change.

or if your battery goes dead, then what?

or think if the body techs that have to realign all those tracks or whatever it uses to open, after a collision.

Its a stupid idea and needs to be completely rethought :thefinger

It seems like something that is more complicated than it needs to be so it can break more often, cost more to build and repair, and fail you at the worst possible time when you need it. I can always get a normal door open and closed baring damage to it with just my hands. There is a reason doors have been the same for all this time. As the saying goes, "If it isn't broke, don't fix it".

Legzman

what the fuck you lookin at?
pretty cool how the doors just roll under the vehicle.

right now I am going to go get those put on my 1989 buick POS. I don't care that they are worth more than the car itself.

But I have a question, why don't they just make all doors slide back sideways like on a van? that would basically accomplish the same results, although it wouldn't look really awesome, but it would be a lot easier.

Looks cool but I don't think I want it on my car though. Like they said, so many things could go wrong with it.

I like the idea, but I wouldn't want something like that on my car. My car is so small in the first place, it's really not necessary, no matter how little space I have to open my door. People who drive gigantic trucks/SUV's, now I think it should be mandatory for those fuckers to have this product.
