Discuss (part 2)

Why save the world, when you can rule it?
Can we ever really be happy?

Surely happiness is our end goal (after all, why would you strive NOT to be happy?) but yet, the more advanced our assorted civilisations grow, it seems the less happy we become. The more we have, the more we want.
Could this explain the reckless and destructive greed of the bankers et al?
Given that people are NEVER satisfied, that there is ALWAYS another want, can anybody EVER be happy?

Suppose we flip the situation on it's head and take an example of a person who has everything that they want and consequently cannot think of anything that they want; without something to want and strive for, are they happy? CAN they be happy? Did I just contradict myself or create a catch 22?
