Torn & Frayed.
Technically, Tony is dead, because James Gandolfini is.

I've read over this a couple times since I've noticed the post earlier and I just can't shake the feeling it's some sort of a cop out. How do we know he isn't just saying that in the interview / conversation, after all artistic merit seems to suggest Tony was whacked out. I'm still on the fence all this time later as to my feelings on that ending.

Maybe it was just as YMIHere posted and it was the audience getting whacked? :dunno:

Personally, I always thought the end was just to mess with our minds to show us how we've changed as viewers.

I don't know about you, but I was looking at every single person in that diner like they were gonna whack him right there. But they didn't. Suspicious guy after suspicious guy they showed.

Therefore, showing us, the audience, how the show trained us to be paranoid.

Personally, I liked the unresolved ending. Leaves you thinking.
