I don't know about anyone else...but I think these cell phone companies have a really good scam going. It used to be when you bought a new cell phone it came preloaded with dozens of decent ringtones. Now you buy a phone and you get 6 to 8 lousy tones. Sure...you can download tones, at $2.99 each!!! 
I have Verizon...not sure if this is a Verizon issue or all cell phones/companies.
I've heard of ways to create your own ringtones... Has anyone tried this and had success? Did some surfing but didn't really find anything all that helpful.
