Couple sells everything to buy a boat and sail the open sea

Only to have it sink 2 days later sailing in shallow water...

A Colorado couple said they sold everything they owned to buy a sailboat and set out for the open seas together.

Within two days, their dream became a nautical nightmare.

On their way to Key West, Tanner Broadwell and Nikki Walsh's voyage abruptly ended in John’s Pass off Madeira Beach, Fla., when their 28-foot sailboat struck something underwater Wednesday night.

"We hit something in about 8 or 9 feet of water and it stopped the boat completely," Broadwell told TV station WFTS.

Water flooded into the cabin, starting to sink their fantasy life. The couple grabbed social security cards, cash, IDs and their pug Remy as they called for rescue.

They should have stayed in the mountains. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say they haven't a clue about boats and sailing.

I have lived on the coast all of my life, and have been boating since I was in my teens. Even then you never know everything there is to know.

You haven’t lived until a sudden thunderstorm erupts when you are 10 miles out and a waterspout is a half mile away.

That's too bad. I thought that this was going to be one of those feel good stories, that is, until the couple gets kidnapped off the Horn of Africa by Somali pirates.

But yeah, I had Christopher Cross’ Sailing playing in my head as I read it when <RECORD SCRATCH>

At first I felt sorry for 26 year old Tanner Broadwell and 24 year old Nikki Walsh. But upon listening to Dave Ramsey talk about their actual motivation for quitting their jobs, selling all their stuff and buying this boat (they were tired of working... at the ripe old ages of 24 and 26!!!), I felt zero sympathy for these two millennial, buttercup dumbasses. Do you know why they're now begging for money with a GoFundMe campaign? Because they were too frickin' stupid to buy insurance on the boat!

OK, I'm willing to give them the 6 grand to get the boat right sided. But first, I have to have a notarized statement from a doctor that he's had a vasectomy and she's had her tubes tied.

We have to do something to cut down on the breeding habits of stoopid people like these two morons.

As long as the pirates released their dog, that would have still been a feel good story.

They should just go back to Colorado and forget the boat. They had their chance and fucked it up. They can still get vasectomy and cut and burned tubes though.
