Bald Eagles raising their young in Decorah, Iowa -- live on webcam
By David Figura/The Post-Standard
...This is really cool. At least one of three bald eaglets has hatched at Decorah Fish Hatchery in Decorah, Iowa. The Raptor Resource Project there has been drawing an Internet audience keeping vigil over the past few days via a live webcam high up at the nest.
The nesting pair has been taking turns watching over the eggs.
The webcam gives viewers a glimpse of the baby eagle's fuzzy white head whenever the adult moves around over it in the nest. Catching a peek requires some patience since the parent is doing a good job taking care of the new arrival and its siblings. If you watch for a while, though, you will likely see the adult check on the little one.
Previous report:
Three bald eagles will hatch any day now at Decorah Fish Hatchery — and you can watch the event live via webcam.
The first egg was laid Feb. 23 in a tall tree where the mother eagle can be seen sitting on her nest.

Looks like mum needs a good long nap by herself.
Action should be better by the day.
