"Club"--noun or verb?

Ever see the episode of the short-lived television series known as "Police Squad," specifically the one where much of the plot revolves around a "club"--as in night club--and a "club" that in particular happened to be called "Club Flamingo," no less, and that when an exterior shot of this particular establishment was seen, depicted upon its marquee was a flashing neon sign consisting of the caricature of a human figure in the process of actually "clubbing" the likeness of an equally neon light caricature of a "flamingo?"

Club Flamingo? The inspiration for a trend that exists to this very minute?
