Rush Limbaugh died of lung cancer today at the age of 70. I wish Be Best to his family. Rush authored three children's books about the time-traveling Rush Revere.

To quote a certain personage in regards to John McCain's death: "Not my kind of guy. But some people like him and I think that's great."

His final wife: "Rush was an extraordinary man. A gentle giant. Brilliant, quick-witted, genuinely kind, extremely generous, passionate, courageous, and the hardest-working person I know. Despite being one of the most recognized, powerful people in the world, Rush never let the success change his core or beliefs. He was polite and respectful to everyone he met."

We will ignore his 'genuinely kind' and 'respectful' treatment of Michael J. Fox (exaggerating or faking his Parkinson's symptoms), Sandra Fluke (calling her a slut and prostitute for daring to support contraception), AIDS patients, and - of course - feminazis.

Limbaugh:
  • "Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country ... And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up." [Guess what didn't happen when he got caught with drugs.]
  • "I'm dead right on this. The coronavirus is the common cold, folks," alleging it was being "weaponized" to bring down Trump

I don't feel sorry he's dead. I only wish he could have been a decent person in life instead of a scumbag. Even worse somebody like him then felt the need to string people along with him in his bat shit crazy thoughts. I still struggle to come to a conclusion on just how much of the crap he spoke he actually believed and how much of it was just a con for his deluded followers to bring in fame, power, and cash. Maybe it was both.

I'd like to think that I don't find pleasure in a person's death, but I would also be lying if I said I didn't think the world is a little bit better place now without him in it. Here's hoping more people like him start to die out to be replaced by younger more decent people. That's harsh, but both true and needed.

Just got back from 5 days camping on a remote beach away from everything. Got some catching up to do, but I'm starting here. Fuck limbaugh. I'm glad he's dead and I'm not going to pretend I'm not. He was a piece of shit, and the world is a far better place without him.
