Chicago Blackhawk Patrick Kane Arrested

Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane, the top overall pick in the 2007 NHL draft, was arrested early Sunday morning in Buffalo, N.Y., and charged with theft of services, criminal mischief and robbery in the second degree after an incident with a cab driver, according to multiple media reports.

The 20-year-old Kane and a relative, James M. Kane, 21, were taken into police custody at about 5 a.m. ET after allegedly punching the driver and taking the $15 in fare they had given him after he said he didn't have 20 cents in change, the Buffalo News reported, citing police.

The driver said his glasses were broken as he was hit in the face and head and grabbed by the throat, according to the police.

If true, he is just plain stupid. Probably had a few drinks and thought it would be "funny". The best part is explaining to the parents why he was stupid, then having to explain to the new Blackhawks GM why he was arrested. Reality is gonna kick him in the ass. Hopefully real good. He is one of the faces of the organization, and I am sure the Blackhawks don't want that face to be an image from a mug shot

That's right! Look at the Raiders. I'll bet you you couldn't walk into the Coliseum on any given Sunday and find 3 people in that stadium, both on and off the field, without a criminal record.

Damn, he was one of my favorite players this year for the Hawks. I'm a little disappointed in his behavior though. Being a professional athlete doesn't give you a license to be a jackass. He needs to learn how to control himself. Save your aggression for the ice, Kane.

The deal will pay Kane a base of $875,000 in salary, which is the maximum for rookies, plus up to $850,000 in 'A' bonuses and $2 million in 'B' bonuses for a possible total of $3.725 million a season.

Too much money and fame for him to handle.
