A partially blind, wonky-toothed dog nicknamed Ug by staff at an ****** shelter has finally found someone to love him after being ignored for months.

The two-year-old pointer cross was snapped up by café worker April Parker, who has renamed him Doug.

According to the 35-year-old, her two teenage ********* were instantly smitten with the pooch when she took them to see him after spotting him on the Mayflower sanctuary's website.

The Doncaster residents forked out £200 to take Ug home with them and they say, despite his 'comical' appearance, he is really loving and has 'a fantastic temperament' (he also bumps into things quite a lot, apparently).

Ug was never officially crowned the UK's ugliest dog, though he quite possibly is.

As of earlier this year, he could also be in the running for the title of world's ugliest dog since the one-time holder of the title ****** away at the age of 17.

Chinese Crested Hairless Miss Ellie was succeeded by Princess Abby Francis, a Chihuahua with a distinctive closed-up left eye and oddly curved back and legs.

2011 could well be your year, Doug...
