Bucs sign paralyzed DT LeGrand

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Paralyzed defensive tackle Eric LeGrand has been signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

LeGrand broke two vertebrae and suffered a serious spinal cord injury on Oct. 16, 2010 during a kickoff return against Army. His coach at Rutgers then, Greg Schiano, now is coach of the Bucs.

How bad is the Buc's defensive line if they're signing cripples now? :1orglaugh

Seriously, though, that's a great gesture on the part of Schiano.

Schiano turned sorry ass Rutgers around.....for a while anyway.

He'll do the same to the sorry ass Bucs.....for a while anyway.

Classy move by Schiano.

So they signed him but don't give him any money. Under the rules of the league that doesn't really seem like a signing at all... :2 cents:

Giving cash and even more of a sacrifice, the use of a roster space, would have really been something that would have been nice, considering he will probably not get anything from Rutgers even considering he probably got permanently injured for them.
