First I want to say that I like an admire Tony Blair but it was British Intelligence that set the table for the war in Iraq which Blair signed off on. In many ways he may be just as responsible and culpable in that clusterfuck as was GWB. Yet, you hold him in high esteem and bash Bush every chance you get. Actually the previous Conservative Prime Minister, John Major, had done most of the negotiating before Blair took over and took all of the credit for ending the troubles in Northern Ireland.
The economy was good because of the previous government's work and just 1 year after he left office, the economy was fucked.

No, he was not a great Prime Minister, he just had charisma that made a lot of people overlook his many shortcomings.
