British Prime Minister Tony Blair

Was he man of the peace and working class hero or warmonger and closet imperialist?

I think he was a great Prime Minister. Under his watch the enlish economy was good. He put and end to the war with Northern Ireland, after 35 years of conflict.

But he made one terrible mistake : He participated to the Iraq war, alongside with Bush.

First I want to say that I like an admire Tony Blair but it was British Intelligence that set the table for the war in Iraq which Blair signed off on. In many ways he may be just as responsible and culpable in that clusterfuck as was GWB. Yet, you hold him in high esteem and bash Bush every chance you get. Just had to point that out . you are Free one's one trick pony.

Well, maybe it wasn't a real war with armies, tanks, etc. More like guerrilla. But it doesn't change the fact that Blair is one of the leaders that put an end to it, so ending it is to be put to his credit.

Actually the previous Conservative Prime Minister, John Major, had done most of the negotiating before Blair took over and took all of the credit for ending the troubles in Northern Ireland.
The economy was good because of the previous government's work and just 1 year after he left office, the economy was fucked.

No, he was not a great Prime Minister, he just had charisma that made a lot of people overlook his many shortcomings.
