BREAKING: Trump Called Comey "Nutjob", Firing Relieved "Great Pressure" On Him

WASHINGTON — President Trump told Russian officials in the Oval Office this month that firing the F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, had relieved “great pressure” on him, according to a document summarizing the meeting.

“I just fired the head of the F.B.I. He was crazy, a real nut job,” Mr. Trump said, according to the document, which was read to The New York Times by an American official. “I faced great pressure because of Russia. That’s taken off.”

Mr. Trump added, “I’m not under investigation.”

The conversation, during a May 10 meeting — the day after he fired Mr. Comey — reinforces the notion that Mr. Trump dismissed him primarily because of the bureau’s investigation into possible collusion between his campaign and Russian operatives. Mr. Trump said as much in one televised interview, but the White House has offered changing justifications for the firing.

The White House document that contained Mr. Trump’s comments was based on notes taken from inside the Oval Office and has been circulated as the official account of the meeting.
One official read quotations to The Times, and a second official confirmed the broad outlines of the discussion.

Sean Spicer, the White House press secretary, did not dispute the account.

In a statement, he said that Mr. Comey had put unnecessary pressure on the president’s ability to conduct diplomacy with Russia on matters such as Syria, Ukraine and the Islamic State.

Dude you are a fucking maroon!

The "great pressure" was referring to the fact that Trump felt restricted in dealing with Russia ( a country that all U.S. presidents have had to deal with) due to Comey's ongoing investigation.

That firing Comey relieved that strain or pressure on his ability to do his job.

Jeezus freaking Cristo!

Firing the guy was certainly not a good way (or legal way) to end the investigation. In fact, that totally backfired and put him under an even greater microscope. It looks highly suspicious.

It didn't end the investigation.
It ended an incompetent boob running it.
Trump knew it wouldn't end it.
Trump also knew that Comey was putting himself in the spotlight through all of the investigations. The final straw was probably when he heard about Comey hiding behind curtains and crap like that.

He was a complete clown. A useful one at times but a clown nonetheless.

President Trump had every legal right to fire Comey with or without cause. As that great community organizer-in-chief once smugly stated, "Elections have consequences." And Comey's firing didn't end the investigation. It goes on. If President Trump was really out to cover up something you'd think he'd keep a lower profile about it instead of TWEETING his former FBI director about possible tape recordings. But logic and stuff. Relax, independent special counsel Mueller is on the case and he will get to the bottom of ALL of this. Let's get to it. Right, democrats?

Joe Lieberman is no slouch either.

I am actually supportive of him being FBI director.

I hope he gets it. I like him and he is far more competent than Comey.
The only drawback is that no way would Lieberman agree to reopen he Hillary email investigation.
