By WILLIAM WEBB

Dunwich, Massachusetts (AP) -- A small town located in upper Miskatonic Valley is reporting several large scale ground attacks resulting in the mysterious disappearance of two unnamed families at this time. Several local sources are reporting that no suspects were seen, but extensive damage to the homes have left them in ruins. Little is known about the attacks as of now, but several witnesses are reporting very strange scenes here in Dunwich.
We spoke with local townsmen Luther Brown who described the initial scene he discovered, "It smells like thunder, an' all the bushes an' little trees is pushed back from the rud like they'd a haouse ben moved along of it...They's prints in the rud, great raound prints as big as barrel-heads, all sunk dawon deep like a elephant had ben along, only they's a sight more nor four feet could make..."
Local housekeep Sally Sawyer reported, "house is all bowed up, with timbers scattered raound like they'd ben dynamite inside..."
Several cattle belonging to the families are also remain missing, along with the discovery of several severely beaten corpses found on the farmlands.
As of now details are sketchy, but remain consistent. Something horrible has happened in Dunwich tonight. Locals are shaken by the recent events, and have continued the efforts to investigate and protect themselves from unknown "horror" that is ravaging the town.
Local authorities have been contacted, but are not expected to be in until the next morning.
Dr. Henry Armitage, a local librarian, was quite confident he knew what was going on in Dunwich, but shared only a few pieces of mysterious information, "I think I know the right kind of spell to recite to make the thing fade away. Of course, one can't be sure, but we can always take a chance. It's invisible".
